1983 Freedom Marine 39 Deck Salon

San Pedro, United States

$44,995

The Freedom sailboats have unstayed rigs, meaning that the mast is freestanding and not supported by the normal set of wires called standing rigging. Garry Hoyt, a champion sailor and noted maverick, created the unstayed rigs to give "freedom" from the inefficient sail shapes of traditional sloop rigs as well as to give "freedom" from the compression and maintenance issues associated with standing rigging. The masts are made of carbon fiber and are set well forward on the boat. This means most of the sail area is contained in the mainsail.

A Ron Holland hull blends with a streamlined cabin for a modern look that reduces windage and still allows the helmsman a view of the bow. Down below is the space and elegance of a much larger boat, with considerable headroom of 6’6” and a view of the harbor from your dining room seat. There are two completely separate staterooms and a galley of princely proportions.

Spartan is a very sound boat having just returned from La Paz after cruising Mexico. Seller bought her in 2014 and the first thing he did was repower her with a brand NEW Beta Diesel.
