1987 Hunter Legend 37

Description   The 1987 Hunter 37 Legend is designed by the Hunter founder Warren Luhrs.The Legend series have a strong history in coastal cruising and racing.  Developed on the back of the legendary Swan sailboats you can see many of the same characteristics.  Their deep Fin Keel and Spade Rudder offer exceptional handling and strong to-weather characteristics.   Jupiter has been modified with an AC20 Electric motor which provides nearly 40 hp and 50 ft-lbs of torque instead of the factory Yanmar Diesel engine.  This offers the benefit of an absolutely silent run from slip to sea and back again.  It can be used in combination with sailing to provide apparent wind on light days and stability in a seaway.  If range anxiety concerns you, the boat comes with 4.8kw of house batteries which back up the 6kw of motor batters, and a Honda 2k generator which allows you to charge the batteries underway or while at shore in Catalina.   Jupiter has been well maintained and updated, this year alone the owner has replaced the standing rigging as well as added a new 120 Genoa including foam luff battens to allow it to be reefed efficiently.  In 2021 the boat was hauled, received new bottom paint, through-hulls, and the Keel Bolts were inspected and re-torqued.  Additionally, the owner installed a 48kw Custom LiPo Battery system that powers the house batteries as well as offering a backup to the motor batteries   Other recent upgrades include:   Newly Painted deck 2019 EV Foam Teak Anti-skid 2019/2020 New Aft Queen Stateroom Mattress 2021 A-Symmetrical Spinnaker, Control Lines and Blocks 2021   Electronics VHF Radio AIS Receiver and on-board wifi Raymarine EV-20 Autopilot Raymarine Depth Guage Xantrex Freedom 2500 Inverter Fresh Water Pump AM/FM Radio w/ CD and external bluetooth   Motor  Curtis AC20 Motor Curtis Motor Controller Elcon 1500w L-Ion battery charger 2 x Tesla 3kw L-Ion batteries 60v-12v converter   Other Magma Grill Two Burner Propane Stove Microwave Refrigerator (New cooling unit 2016?)   Current items are pictured but not available.
